It's the LITTLE OLD LADY FROM PASENDENA! Um, if you are too young to relate that to the song, you'll have to just use this "Go Granny, Go"

Read an article today about some charities checking immigration status before handing out gifts. And here is another one. I applaud them in this decision! There are plenty of children of American Citizens in this country that are in need of help. We, as a nation, should make certain they get priority in ANYthing from this country--whether private or goverment sector.

Checking a birth certificate & having to show proof of income is a standard of a lot of charities (& government agencies) and I can see their thoughts in doing this to make sure people are indeed needy of help. With the economy is such dire straights, funds available to charities are extremely limited this year and I am sure they are distraught about not being  able to help as many as they want to. This increases the importance of helping children of America first.

I am not a 'Scrooge', but believe only people truly in need should receive help and that our nation should give the CITIZENS of our nation the very first priority. I am not against immigrants, but believe they should  become American citizens (AND LEARN TO SPEAK & READ ENGLISH!!!) if they want to live in our country and that we should not offer ANY free service or education to them.

I know our country is based on immigrants and diversity is wonderful, but this is America. BECOME American if you want to live here and reap the benefits of living here. One can still embrace their heritage, but become an American first.

There! I probably pissed a few off, but that's the way the ball bounces in my court.

How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was great--had a wonderful time/visit at my Parent's house. I called them Sunday before the holiday and asked my mom if  she  fixing turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. She said "Your Dad doesn't like turkey--we are having ham". I sAID, "wELL IF YOU AREN'T HAVING TURKEY, THEN i WON'T COME." LOL  Had to talk her into believing that I was telling the truth. Guess what? We had turkey!  Those leftover turkey sandwiches were DELICIOUS too!

We went out a couple days--to our fav Goodwills. We do our part into keeping them in business. Other than that, we stayed out of the stores because of the crowds. I am not a big black friday shopper.

Here's my Mom  in a nearby town's GW:

EXCELLENT WEEKEND!!!

Yup-have had a marvelous weekend, but alas it is ending soon as I will be headed back home shortly. Have spent the weekend in Wilmington, NC and it has been so nice & relaxing--just piddling around--no real schedule. Came down Friday after work, came to the house--unpacked, then went to dinner.

Saturday we got up and had a leisurely morning then headed to The Dockside for a couple beers &  lunch. Drove over the bridge into Wrightsville beach and did some sightseeing and stopped at Wrightsville Beach inlet and walked around there over to the beach side. That was fun.

Headed  back to Wilmington to mess around at the Mayfaire shopping center and went through a few stores.

nov 09 023

One of the Mayfaire Shopping Ctr entrances--the stores are laid out like  city blocks.

Then we drove through one of their housing areas--very nice neighborhood  and we got to go through 3 open houses, which unbelieveably did NOT have agents in them. We both fell in love with a $849,000 3000+ sq ft 4 bedroom home! (Yes, they are all in this price range.)  Was fun pretending we were rich--lol.   This house REALLY was uber nice.

Kitchen --- I know this picture does NOT do this justice, but believe me--it had all the ammenities! The neighborhood was a secluded one and all thwe homes were on zero lot lines and all right on the street almost with front porches. Sidewalks on each street and the entrances to the back of the home (garages) was a private road. Having thegarages in back was nice-no distractions from the homes.

Saturday night we had made reservations at the Hilton/Riverside in downtown Wilmington at Chris's  Ruth Steak House. Can you say EXRAVAGANT???? OH MY GOD!!! A 1st class restaurant no doubt! UBER expensive too--geesh, but the food and service was impeccable. (As it SHOULD be for that priced place!)

Hope everyone had as fun a weekend as I did.

Here is an interesting, entertaining video for you that will bring back memories:
